First we will start with the muffins, gorgeous aren't they? What a story they could tell as to their creation though ;)
It all started upon waking up, I wish now that I had slept in... I woke
up sick... so very sick... I finally made it to the kitchen with the
single thought of "The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day, I am so not letting myself get sick today!" and proceeded to turn on the oven to pop my yummy cranberry pumpkin muffins in.
As I began to put the batter into the muffin pans I was imagining waking the household up to the delicious aroma that was soon to permeate their dreams.
Zzzzt.... wtf was that noise?
Turning around I see the glow of a UFO emitting from inside my oven. Thinking a fire has started from a morsel that may have landed on a coil I open the door to what I can only explain as what looked like an arc welder glow that promptly blinded me. Franticly trying to turn off the stove I run in to wake up the husband, bouncing against stuff because I am *Blind*!
Luckily the glow that had burned into my eye left and I was able to see again, turning the oven back on to see if perhaps I was just dreaming I notice that the stupid thing is not raising above 270 degrees. So much for my beautiful fall dreams of baking the afternoon away.
So we had to load the muffin pans into the car and luckily our other house has not sold yet, so off we head to the other house. By this time it is obvious that our plans for the day are shot. The first train leaves at 10 in the morning. Well it is after by this time. By the time we are done cleaning the oven at the other house and tossing the muffins in there is no way we will be able to make the only other time for the train. So, we decided to make do and headed to Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary where I took pictures to my hearts content!
Hope everyone elses day turned out wonderul!
