Finally have motivation

i was gonna ask what the background is, then you mentioned the bathroom. Have those backgrounds been toyed with, uh, that is, edited?
Hehe. Oh they are heavily, heavily edited with textures, brushes and layers of colors :). Although having a wall the color of those backgrounds would be pretty cool! At least for a teen-ager hehe
exactly. i figured as such, thinking also who has bathrooms that cool?!
lol that sounds like a challenge! ;)

j/k until we move out of the mom-in-laws house I can't get too funky with the decorating or she will never want to move back here once we're gone! :D
But once we're in AZ those colors would look awesome in an adobe house hehe!
I love, love, love all the creativity here with the photos.........would love to learn
to do this. My son can do all of this.....but he hates teaching it.....sits down and clicks here, clicks there & I am left in the dark wondering what he did and how he did it! LOL.........He use to do videography & photos for weddings.....I think he got burned out quickly because of the time it involved once the wedding was over. But, he is sort of a perfectionist when it comes to this type of editing and stays with it until it's "perfect" to him. I am such a novice......just point, click, & shoot (smile). I love to create scrapbook pages when I have free time which is very seldom at this time because of our plan to start re-modeling the house. But, once we move out, I think I might have a bit of free time in between running errands to pick up what the contractor will be ready for. We're moving into a relatively small place with only bare essentials, so not a lot to keep cleaned up......and the new home when finished will be around 4000 sq.ft, so I think I'll have a room for letting the "creative juices" flow! Yea!!!! Your edited photos sort of remind me of those who do digital scrapbooking (create their pages on line and then print for their books.
Thanks for the compliments Sheila! I am actually a scrapbooker myself, that is how I rekindled my love of photography a few years ago :). My scrapbook/craft room post is here along with pics of it. I am so in love with it! The room and scrapping I mean hehe.

As for how I edit the photos I use Adobe Photoshop CS3. But Adobe Lightroom can do just about the same as CS3 and is alot simpler to use. As for myself, a friend gave me their CS2 a couple years ago and I just sat down and googled tutorials and learned it from trial and error. Some errors turn out to be amazing images though! You just can't go wrong when editing pics :).

4000 sq ft. should give you a hecka lot of room for getting those creative juices going, I will be looking forward to seeing what you come up with once you have the time and room to do it!

Ok, I am sooooooooooo jealous of that room!!!!!! That is my whole set up of how I have it in my mind.......ok...one day, it'll come. I just hope I ain't too old to get around. (smile)

And, Yes, I will fine me a room to turn into a "craft" room. My husband always says "another junk room"! But, nope...no more. Once I get it cleaned up around here.....nothing like "junk and clutter" is coming back!
lol Thanks again! That room was 3 years in the dreaming and planning process as well. I started out at the kitchen table with rubbermaids scattered about me. Then I dug my husbands old architect desk out of the basement and took over a corner of our computer room and had him put up 2 shelves for me. But my addiction grew.
We had tenents who moved out leaving the upstairs free and we decided to spread out in the house, it gave us three extra rooms. So the kids finally got their own rooms and for the first time ever I had my own craft room. But we ended up moving shortly after and I was back to being delegated to the basement for awhile lol.
But then empty nest syndrome started and my first child moved out which gave me a room all my own again and Voila... there it is!
If you have the room I would suggest to start looking for your storage needs now and just keep the boxes put away. It will be less of a cost all at once then, that is what I did. Every time I went to Target I would buy one more of the storage squares lol. $22 a visit is not quite as shocking as $500 all at once! :D
Yes......this is what I am sort of doing.....even though hubby keeps saying "Don't be buying anything more that we have to move"....(smile) We are going to move out and into a smaller house once my mom and brother get moved out of it into their new place. This will be while our house is being going through "extreme makeover" LOL! Anyway, everytime I see something like plastic containers made for cardstock storage, I buy. I also subscribe to Scrapbooks Etc. and I see awesome cabinetry and all kinds of organziational tools like buckets with pockets and pen holders...etc. Plus, in St. Louis we have Archivers which I love to shop at......so, I check out there stuff. I'm definitely in to it. LOL It will get there eventually......but, as you did, right now it is just rubbermaid boxes. (smile)
OMG we don't have an Archivers here! I have seen their ad's. We had one lil store that had almost no selection, yeah it went out of business in under a year so I am stuck with Michaels *puke*. I hate paying their inflated prices.

Scrapbooking is such an addiction, you just can't stop buying stuff cause they keep coming out with new cute stuff and you just know your going to pu it to use!!! lol

I can't wait to see your scrapbook room Sheila, it takes scrapbooking to a whole new level when you actually have room to spread out! :)
Hmmmmmmm........well, I finally got to see the "re-vised" plans and the room I was going to use isn't all that big looking to me. He is suppose to have some copies made and give us so I can get a closer look at the dimensions. He was saying something about it being a sitting room......I said I was going to use it for my computer room, as well. I didn't say anything about "craft" room, but was thinking I could use it for that as well......so, until I get a closer look......I am not sure yet. I'm still in "thought mode" lOL!!! But, believe me, I will have a "permanent" space to work in once the house is done and we move back in.

Archivers is sooooooooo nice. I don't get there very often because I live about 85 miles from St. Louis, so when I have a reason to go to the city, I try to get over there to shop. It's awesome as well as "Hobby Lobby", too. Our little town here has a Scrapbooking store but I have not been able to stop by yet to see what they have. I am always running for this or that and forget about stopping. (smile) I understand where you are coming from about Michael's. I also go on-line and order stuff from "timestocherish.com". It is through Current Catalog. I ordered recently all their yarn and the punch tool and the different stitch patterns to use to stitch on cardstock. I can't wait to try it. (smile)
I <3 Hobby Lobby! When they opened their first store in Illinois, I walked in and was just in total shock that a crafting store could be so huuuuge! I seriously spent 6 hours in there walking up and down every single isle!
Up til then I had only been able to get crafting supplies at Franks nursery and crafts, and let me tell ya their craft area was very small lol.

As for room, don't forget that storage is the secret! With using those blocks you can really stack tons of stuff on top of each other, heck you can almost go to the ceiling if you wanted to. Just gotta keep a step ladder handy then hehe. Us crafters are slick about finding room to craft, I have faith in you!!!!

Yes.....Yes....I agree about the storage.....I found at Wally World these plastic three tiered drawers that are for storing 12 x 12 cardstock paper and I think they are like ten dollars a piece...so, I have been buying them off and on when I have an extra ten bucks and I can stack them on top of each other to use.....so, I am definitely accumulating the scrapbooking/craft items a little at a time to have when the time comes to spread it all out and set up. I can hardly wait. The contractor was here yesterday morning and said he thinks he will be able to get started around the 1st of March if weather holds. YIPPEE! Hopefully, it will go smoothely with no interruption or problems and we can be back in by September.
Just so you know....I did print off what you told me about where you go and getting started with the digital scrapbooking editing and such. I do want to find some time to learn that. I am sort of a self-taught computer person.....son can do all of that stuff...but, he sort of burned himself out early on when he was in to the wedding photography and video editing. So any ideas you can help me with....just e-mail me.........sheila.a.watson @gmail.com
