I'm so jealous and excited to see your new photos with this baby.
Same here... the excited part I mean.. my husband was behind me rubbing my back as I was hovering over the "Buy now" option, knowing how hard it was for me to do it.... Just as I clicked the tab he goes "Oh Wait!" I about jumped out of my chair and was like OMG OMG WHAT??? ................ My husband is evil sometimes hehe, he proceeded to start laughing at me. I finally stopped being so nervous about the purchase then lol.

How do you decided on the canon 400? I would lie to get a SLR and after christmas I'm going to start looking around. I like my little canon but it is a point and shoot and I'd like SLR.
Well, I first got turned on to the Canon rebel via a lady on the forums at Scrapbook.com about a year or so ago. {I had been using my point and shoot Kodak for about 2 years and was really unimpressed with its ability to handle indoor and night time photography.} I started hitting photography forums, checking flickr info on what type of camera was used on photos that I was really impressed with, subscribed to Popular Photography and just really kept about a years vigil on the DSLR trend. The 400D is about the bottom of the line for the Canon DSLR line but it has so very many bonus' to it that I could not make a good argument to go all out and spend $1500 or more. I will save that expense for when I am done with school and do some professional photography!
But for the most peace of mind, I suggest you do the same, I learned a ton of info about the camera by doing my own research and it made making this huge purchase so much easier... that is if you can call paralyzing fear of clicking the buy now option easy hehe.
Keep us updated on your search for a new camera!
Great information, thanks so much. I will take your advice and keep my ears and eyes open.
What type of camera are you using now? Your pictures are gorgeous!

Are you in search of a new camera as well, not sure how you feel about Evilbay but I am pretty happy with the company I did business with. I can send you their name if you are interested.

Thanks for the generous complement! I have a cannon powershot A570. I got it in the spring and have taken over 2000 photos already. I guess if you take enough photos some will turn out. :-)

I can use the manual setting etc. but it isn't a SLR. Once I have Christmas, new tires and some misc. bills paid, I would like to go shopping for a SLR. But like you I don't want to spend a small fortune. Please send me the info you have and I'll do some research and thanks for helping!!!
